QGF hosts artistic gymnastics coaching course

DOHA: The Qatar Gymnastics Federation is currently hosting a artistic gymnastics coaching course for the local trainers.

The month-long programme will be held twice weekly under FIG expert Mr. Eric Boucharin.

QGF Secretary general Abeer Al-Buainain stated that the goal of holding this course is to learn about new training methods in the world of gymnastics.

Al Buainain added: "This course is one of the most important training courses organized by the Gymnastics Federation because it is held for all gymnastics coaches, and the Federation strives to raise the level of coaches and referees, and she hoped that the course would rise to the highest level in artistic gymnastics training, whether through theoretical or practical lectures."

FIG Academy for Artistic Gymnastics Level III for coaches concludes

DOHA: The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Academy for Artistic Gymnastics Level III for coaches successfully concluded here. 

The program was hosted by the Qatar Gymnastics Federation (QGF) from Dec 3-9. 

“I thank the Qatar Olympic Committee for the go-ahead to host this Academy. We always look forward to host and organise such development program,” said QGF president Mr Ali Al Hitmi.

Top experts at FIG, Olga Kyselovicova, Jo Richards and Andrei Levit were among others who conducted the program at QGF’s training centre at Al Luqta. 

A total of 26 coaches from Thailand, Pakistan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Iran, Philippines, India, USA, Colombia and Qatar took part in the camp. 

The participating coaches praised Qatar’s excellent organising capabilities in sports and also thanked QGF and Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) for organizing this academy. 

The FIG experts also praised the professional way in which the Academy was held amid the great support of AGU with the aim of achieving the maximum possible benefits for all participants.

The lecturers expressed their happiness and rates the Academy program in Doha as one of the most important and successful academies. 

The experts and participants expressed their deepest thanks to  QGF president and his team for making the Academy program successful. 

Al Hitmi and the FIG experts distributed graduation certificates to the participants on successful completion of the course, which included both theoretical and practical tests. 

The QGF president thanked the Qatar Olympic Committee, FIG and AGU for allowing the QGF to organise the Academy program in the Qatari capital. 

He extended his thanks to the FIG experts and the participating coaches and honored them with souvenirs on behalf of the QGF.

Qatar to host FIG Academy for Artistic Gymnastics (Level 3) from Dec 3  

DOHA: Qatar Gymnastics Federation (QGF) will host the FIG Academy for Artistic Gymnastics (Level 3) here from 3 December. 

The one week program will feature 17 MAG and 11 WAG participants from India, Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, South Korea, USA and Saudi Arabia. 

The FIG Academy will be conducted by experts Olga Kyselovicova, Andrei Levit, Eric Boucharin, Joanne Richards and Stacey Umeh. 

The program will conclude on 10 December. 

The FIG Academy Programme, consists of three levels of coaches' education, is the culmination of a worldwide education programme for coaches in seven of the FIG disciplines. 

Qatar's artistic gymnast Salma undergoes successful surgery

DOHA: A successful surgery was performed at Aspetar Hospital for girls artistic gymnast in Qatar, Salma Nasser.

The operation was performed for the player by a world-famous professor of general surgery.

After the operation was performed, the federation’s medical staff followed up on the player’s condition and health, and submitted a report to the President of the Qatar Gymnastics Federation, Mr. Ali Al-Hitmi, and the Secretary-General, Ms. Abeer Al-Buainain.

They called Salma, checked on her, congratulated her on the success of the operation, and wished her a speedy recovery.

The Qatar Football Association and all its employees take this opportunity to wish the player a speedy recovery and hope that she will return to team training soon.
